John Mulholland set up his own business in 1994 in Greenock's Lynedoch Street before expanding into the 6,500 square feet showroom in Dalrymple Street that Carpetrite resides in today.

The showorom which is soon to be expanded to over 10,000 square feet, gave John the space he needed to display the exclusive Karndean flooring of which Carpetrite is the only stockist in the Inverclyde area. The expansion will also make Carpetrite the biggest single floor retailer in the West of Scotland.

The business has expanded to a team of more than 25, all fully trained and specialised in every aspect of carpeting, laminates and other flooring products and services.

Carpetrite are also delighted to be able to plough back someting into the local community by sponsoring no less than three local football teams from all over Inverclyde.
